Introducing Summer Salad Sundays….a summer blogging carnival!

Move over Sunday Night Soup Night, there’s a new kid in town!

Last fall I started Sunday Night Soup Night, intending it to be a seasonal carnival for soups, stews, stocks etc. Well now the time has come for Sunday Night Soup Night to take a summer vacation, and in it’s place over summer, I’m launching Summer Salad Sundays!

Summer is a time of abundant garden produce – fresh, crunchy and juicy! What better way to enjoy it than a big bowl of salad! Like soup, salads are so incredibly versatile and there is no limit to the combinations and flavors that you can create. Make a small side salad to a complement a meal, or add some protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats, and you have a complete meal!

Summer Salad Sundays is a place to link up and share your salad recipes, all through summer!

Anything goes!

  • Leafy green salads
  • Meat-based salads
  • Grain or lentil-based salads
  • Pasta salads
  • Potato salads
  • Fruit salads
  • Cooked vegetable salads
  • Homemade salad dressing recipes/tips
  • ….etc…provided it’s healthy and salad-related!

The only thing I ask is that you only link up salads that use real food ingredients, and no industrial foods such as processed vegetable oils (extra virgin and cold pressed are ok) or store-bought salad dressings.

Summer Salad Sundays will start Sunday June 3, and will run every Sunday until fall, at which time Sunday Night Soup Night will return.  I will have the link up each Saturday night. Simply come to my homepage on a Sunday and you’ll see the Summer Salad Sundays carnival right there. I’m really looking forward to sharing some great salad recipes!

Sunday Night Soup Night is taking a summer vacation….

Sunday, May 27, will be the final Sunday Night Soup Night of the season. I will still be making soup throughout summer because I eat soup for either breakfast or lunch almost every day. But I’ll be taking a break from challenging myself to make a new soup every week, and I’m looking forward to revisiting some of my old favorites instead :)

Sunday Night Soup will return in fall, and I will look forward to featuring everyone’s soup recipes again then!

In the meantime, let’s have some fun with Summer Salad Sundays!
