Menu Inspirations! – Sweet Treats

What to eat? It’s a question I ask myself every week as I make out my grocery list 🙂 Although I have a great collection of my own recipes that I rotate through on a regular basis, I’m always on the lookout for new ideas and inspiration. I’m forever scanning blogs, Pinterest boards and magazines, and whenever I see something I like, I Pin it.

To help me (and hopefully you!) with meal planning ideas, each week I’m going to share some recipes that have inspired me in some way. It will be a mixture of my own recipes and ones that I’ve found on other blogs that I’d love to try. I won’t always stick to the breakfast/lunch/dinner format – I’ll mix it up depending on what I find, so expect to also find yummy ideas for snacks, appetizers, desserts, sweet treats etc in future editions.

If you are on the lookout for new meal ideas that are quick, easy and nourishing, come join me each week as I share what has inspired me!

Chicken and Apple Breakfast Sausage

So we are going to do sweet treats, but not before breakfast, right? Eat your breakfast first please 🙂

Chicken and Apple Breakfast Sausage
Kefir Sourdough Waffles
Frittata Muffins w/ Caramelized Onions, Kale and Golden Raisins

Sweet Treats

Carob Nut Slice

Who can resist something sweet? I have a sweet tooth and I always will. But I like my sweet treats to be as wholesome and healthy as a sweet treat can possibly be. Here are a few grain-free goodies that fit the bill for me:

Carob Nut Slice (no bake)
Double Chocolate Hazelnut Coconut Cookies
Raw Chocolate, Coconut and Orange Balls (I would replace the agave nectar with honey)
Coconut Banana Cupcakes

Warm Stir Fried Chicken Salad

Now make sure you finish off the day with a healthy dinner! Here are a few of the dinners that we’ve been enjoying lately, and some that I’d like to try:

Warm Stir-Fried Chicken Salad
Chicken, Sweet Potato and Mushroom Kabobs
Sweet and Sour Beef Casserole

I hope you got some good ideas from this week’s line up. I’ll be back next week with some great Easter eats!
